OnceUponA Farm is a small family farm located in beautiful Prince Edward County. After admiring photos of Gypsy Vanner Horses ( sometimes known as Gypsy Cobs or simply Gypsy Horses and even Colored Cobs) in magazines and on the web, we finally had the opportunity to meet some of these amazing creatures, and their owners, at Equitana in 2003. That's when we realized that we absolutely needed one of these magical horses! We were hooked. After much planning, and 11 months of not so patient waiting, Nimue (RoadSweeper x King's Kaulo Ratti) was born in Florida. At four months of age Nimue arrived in Canada. Nimue has the distinction of being Canada's first Gypsy Vanner Horse.

All of our horses participate regularly in Horse Shows, Fairs, Equine Events, and various Community Events such as Parades, Heritage Days and Canada Day Celebrations.

Here at OnceUponA Farm we are dedicated to breeding for all the qualities that first attracted us to the Gypsy Vanner breed. We breed thoughtfully.....for quality, not quantity. Conformation is of the foremost importance. Then there is the the trademark flashy good looks; their profuse, flowing mane, tail and feather; their gentle and intelligent nature and, of course, the versatility of the breed.

We welcome visitors to our farm. Please call to arrange a visit. Our goal is to promote awareness and understanding of the Gypsy Vanner Horse. Just want to talk "gypsy"? Give us a call!
